Kari Binion is a writer and artist. Her writing focuses strongly on nature and making connections between nature and the human experience. Her works include poetry, essays, short stories, children’s stories, and memoir. Kari earned her Master’s in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the Ohio State University. She taught English/Language Arts with junior high students for 17 years and then finished her career as a first grade teacher. She is a fellow of the National Writing Project which enhanced her teaching and learning of writing. Now retired, Kari and her husband of forty years enjoy traveling and spending time with their six grandchildren with whom she shares her love of nature, reading, writing, and art. She and her husband share a personal quote, “Together we embrace the journey, because we never know where we’ll end up.” Kari is now actively seeking an agent and publisher to work with her on getting her first illustrated children’s book to publication.
